Khaled Mattawa – January 22, 2020

January 22 – Khaled Mattawa has published five books of poems, translated several books of poetry, and edited anthologies of Arab American writing. His Mare Nostrum recently appeared from the Quarternote Chapbook Series of Sarabande Books. He received a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2014. He teaches creative writing at U-M and edits Michigan Quarterly Review.

Featured reader is followed by an open mic. All events take place in the Crazy Wisdom Tea Room from 7-8:30 pm.

Dennis Hinrichsen served as the first Poet Laureate of the Greater Lansing area from MDennisHenrichsenay 2017 to April 2019. His poetry collection, Skin Music, won the 2014 Michael Waters Poetry Prize from Southern Indiana Review Press. His most recent work is [q / lear], a chapbook from Green Linden Press.

JeniferDeBellisJenifer DeBellis, M.F.A., is author of the poetry collection Blood Sisters, founding director of aRIFT Warrior Project, and editor of Pink Panther Magazine. She directs the Detroit Writers’ Guild. A former Meadow Brook Writing Project fellow, she teaches writing for Saginaw Valley State University and Macomb Community College.
