MBartleySeigleOctober 26 – M. Bartley Seigel, Poet Laureate Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, lives in Ojibwe homelands and Treaty of 1842 territory on the shores of Lake Superior. His poems appear in Poetry Magazine, Michigan Quarterly Review, and his book—This Is What They Say. He is Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.

CharlesHarperWebbSeptember 28 – Charles Harper Webb has a new novel (Ursula Lake), twelve poetry collections (the latest being Sidebend World), and collected essays titled A Million MFAs Are Not Enough. His “stand-up” West Coast poetry brings comedy, relevance, and vision to the literary scene. A qualified psychotherapist, he teaches Creative Writing at California State University, Long Beach.

Liebler. A native of Detroit, he lives in Pittsburgh and teaches in the Alma College low-residency MFA program.

ShuttaCrum Shutta Crum has poems published in Typehouse, 3rd Wednesday, Blue Unicorn, Acumen, and a chapbook, When You Get Here, which won a gold Royal Palm Literary Award. Her newest book is The Way to THE River. Of her many books for young readers, THUNDER-BOOMER! was chosen by Smithsonian Magazine and American Library Association as a notable book.


MikeMaggioMike Maggio, poet and fiction writer from DC Area, has had work published in Potomac Review, Pleiades, and L.A. Weekly. His newest of several books of poems is Let’s Call It Paradise. His recent novel is In the Valley of Granite and Steel, and Letters from Inside is a collection of his stories.

is a Mexican-American writer, editor, publisher, and Poet Laureate of Madison, Wisconsin. She holds an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts. JudithMcCombsJudith McCombs grew up nomadic in a geodetic surveyor’s family. Her poems appear in Poetry, Shenandoah, Nimrod, and in five books including The Habit of Fire: Poems Selected & New. She has taught at Wayne State U. and in the Washington, D.C. area. She received awards from Michigan and Maryland State Arts Councils


MollySpencerMolly Spencer has recent poems published in Blackbird, Los Angeles Review, and Prairie Schooner. She is the author of the poetry collections If the House, winner of the Brittingham Prize, and Hinge, winner of the Crab Orchard Open Competition. She teaches writing at the University of Michigan.

RonKoertgeRon Koertge began publishing poetry in the 1960’s and has published more than twenty books of poetry. His poems continue to appear in independent poetry journals. His recent books include Yellow Moving Van (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018), Olympusville (Red Hen Press, 2018), and Vampire Planet (Red Hen Press, 2016).

In 2018 a film based on Ron’s prose poem “Negative Space,” created by Ru Kuwahata and Max Porter, was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Animated Short Film.

Ron was a faculty member for more than 35 years at Pasadena City College. He also taught in the MFA Writing for Children & Young Adults program at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Ron is the author of many celebrated novels for young adults, including Coaltown Jesus, Stoner & Spaz, and Shakespeare Bats Cleanup.

Ron and his wife live in Pasadena, California, in a house featured in Halloween, one of the most iconic horror films of all time.

MichaelZadoorianMichael Zadoorian has four published novels, The Narcissism of Small Differences, Beautiful Music, The Leisure Seeker and Second Hand, and a story collection, The Lost Tiki Palaces of Detroit. His fiction has appeared in NAR, Literary Review, and Witness. The Leisure Seeker was made into a film starring Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland.
