October 26 – M. Bartley Seigel, Poet Laureate Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, lives in Ojibwe homelands and Treaty of 1842 territory on the shores of Lake Superior. His poems appear in Poetry Magazine, Michigan Quarterly Review, and his book—This Is What They Say. He is Associate Professor of Creative Writing at Michigan Technological University in Houghton.

September 28 – Charles Harper Webb has a new novel (Ursula Lake), twelve poetry collections (the latest being Sidebend World), and collected essays titled A Million MFAs Are Not Enough. His “stand-up” West Coast poetry brings comedy, relevance, and vision to the literary scene. A qualified psychotherapist, he teaches Creative Writing at California State University, Long Beach.

Jim Daniels’ most recent of thirty poetry collections is Gun/Shy. Other recent books include The Perp Walk (fiction) and RESPECT: The Poetry of Detroit Music (2020), co-edited with M. L. Liebler. A native of Detroit, he lives in Pittsburgh and teaches in the Alma College low-residency MFA program.

 Shutta Crum has poems published in Typehouse, 3^rd Wednesday, Blue Unicorn, Acumen, and a chapbook, When You Get Here, which won a gold Royal Palm Literary Award. Her newest book is The Way to THE River. Of her many books for young readers, THUNDER-BOOMER! was chosen by Smithsonian Magazine and American Library Association as a notable book.

Mike Maggio, poet and fiction writer from DC Area, has had work published in Potomac Review, Pleiades, and L.A. Weekly. His newest of several books of poems is Let’s Call It Paradise. His recent novel is In the Valley of Granite and Steel, and Letters from Inside is a collection of his stories.

April 27 – Colby Cedar Smith has poems published in Pleiades, Mid-American Review, and The Iowa Review. Her debut novel in verse, Call Me Athena: Girl from Detroit, is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection, an American Booksellers Association Indie Next Pick, and a Cybils Award Nominee. She was awarded a New Jersey Council on the Arts Fellowship in Poetry.

Margaret Rozga’s fifth book of poems is Holding My Selves Together: New and Selected Poems (2021). While Wisconsin Poet Laureate in 2019-2020, she co-edited Through This Door: Wisconsin in Poems with Angie Trudell Vasquez. Margaret is currently the inaugural artist/scholar at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee at Waukesha Field Station. Website: margaretrozga.com

Angie Trudell Vasquez is a Mexican-American writer, editor, publisher, and Poet Laureate of Madison, Wisconsin. She holds an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Her books of poetry are In Light, Always Light (Finishing Line Press, 2019) and My People Redux (2022). She is a fellow of Sandra Cisneros’ Macondo Writers Workshop.
