Dunya Mikhail is an Iraqi-American whose five books of poems address themes of war, exile, and loss. She has received Guggenheim and Kresge fellowships, the Arab American Book Award, and the U.N. Human Rights Award. She currently teaches Arabic language and literature at Oakland University. Her reading will be bilingual.

Donovan Hohn is the author of Moby-Duck: The True Story of 28,800 Bath Toys Lost at Sea, a New York Times Notable Book and runner-up for two major awards. His essays appear in Harper’s, Lapham’s Quarterly, and Best Creative Nonfiction. He will read from The Inner Coast: Essays, published last June.

Natalie Bakopoulos is the author of two novels: The Green Shore and the recently published Scorpionfish. Her work has appeared in Granta, The Iowa Review, Ploughshares, and O. Henry Prize Stories. She’s an assistant professor at Wayne State University and faculty member of the summer program, Writing Workshops in Greece.

Arnold Johnston, former chair of English at WMU, writes poems, fiction, plays and translations that have been widely published and awarded prizes. He performs many stage roles and solo concerts. The Chicago Tribune named his production of Jacques Brel’s songs one of 30 “must-see” shows for summer 2017. He has a newly published poetry collection and novel.

Richard Tillinghast has published twelve books of poetry and five of creative nonfiction. His most recent publication is Journeys into the Mind of the World: A Book of Places. He has taught at Harvard, U. of Michigan, U. Cal Berkeley, and Sewanee. Retired, he’s lived in Ireland and now Hawaii, spending summers in Tennessee.

February 26 – Bradley K. Meyer is a poet and photographer working from Dayton, OH. His poems and prose poems have appeared in decomP, DASH, Toad, Superstition Review, Rust+Moth, and Black Heart Magazine. He is author of the chapbook, Hotel Room, and edits Pouch Magazine, which lives at pouchmag.com. The Opossum is his favorite animal.

Paul Bernstein is a self-taught poet who publishes regularly in journals and anthologies. His book-length collection What the Owls Know was published by Kelsay Books in August 2019. Recent work has appeared in Third Wednesday, Down in the Dirt, Muddy River Poetry Review, and U.S. 1 Worksheets.

FEATURED: Chirs and George Tysh

Chris Tysh is author of several plays and collections of poetry. Her latest proj

ect, Hotel des Archives, features verse “transcreations” from the novels of Samuel Beckett, Jean Genet, and Marguerite Duras, published by Station Hill Press. She holds fellowships from The National Endowment for the Arts and the Kresge Foundation.

George Tysh has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kresge Foundation. His 11 books of poetry include The Slip (2015) and The Imperfect (2010), with a new collection, Twisted Flesh, forthcoming in 2020. He teaches film studies and poetics at College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

January 22 – Khaled Mattawa has published five books of poems, translated several books of poetry, and edited anthologies of Arab American writing. His Mare Nostrum recently appeared from the Quarternote Chapbook Series of Sarabande Books. He received a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2014. He teaches creative writing at U-M and edits Michigan Quarterly Review.
